Anita Wynell Hatchett, age 82, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on January 14, 2020. The family will visit with friends and family from 10:00 am until 10:50 am at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 am at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
Anita was born on April 1, 1937, in Dawson, Georgia, the daughter of Dudley Mullinex and Willie Mae Pitman Mullinex. Anita was raised in the greater Columbus area and graduated from Jordan High School. Anita married Joseph A. Hatchett, and they made their home in Columbus. She worked for Columbus Carpet Mills as a secretary until she retired, and she was a member of Norris Road Baptist Church. Anita loved being a wife and a mother. She enjoyed having the family get together and cooking for them. She was able to sew extremely well; she kept clothes mended, and new outfits and dresses were created with love and expertise. Anita loved her family, and she not only told them, but she showed them how much she loved them.
Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Hatchett; a son, Bobby Gene Olds Jr.; a sister, Betty Mullins; her parents, D.V. Mullinex and Willie Mae Mullinex.
Survivors include: their children, Regina Abney, Siobahn Hatchett, Chris Hatchett, Kevin Hatchett, Steve Hatchett, Eric Hatchett, Michael Hatchett, Terry Olds, Rodney Olds, Wanda Mickelson, Roger Mickelson; many other nieces, nephews and family members that will cherish Anita’s memory.
