Aster E Tolbert

Aster Estelle Tolbert, 90, of Columbus, GA passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2017 under the loving care of Kindred Hospice. The family will welcome guests for visitation Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A Celebration of Aster’s Life will begin at 2:00 pm in the Mill Room, with a Committal service at Parkhill Cemetery followed by a reception in the Mill Room, officiated by reverend Timothy Paulk.

Mrs. Tolbert was born March 3, 1927 in Union Point, GA to her late parents Thomas and Lena Mae Baughcum. She was a Textile Worker by trade and had been employed by Fieldcrest Cannon Mills. Aster had a great sense of humor and loved laugh, cut-up and have fun with her large family. She enjoyed working in her garden and growing flowers, and will be dearly missed.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Tolbert was preceded in death by: her husband Johnny Tolbert; four brothers, Ralph, Bill, Ode, and Clay Baughcum; three sisters, Lurie Phillips, Nolie Everett, and Geneva Morgan.She is survived by: four daughters, Brenda (Lamar) Amerson, Sandra (Tony) Carlton, Janice (James) Jackson, and Shelia (Ray) Martin; grandchildren, Jeffery Amerson, Gail Pasco, Billy Pasco, Michael Martin, Andrew Martin, Bobbie Martin, Angela Eunice, Scott Eunice, Randy Ward, Mary Ward, Keith Ward, Shannon Ward, Wesley Jackson, Julie Jackson, Richard Carlton, Jennifer Carlton and Chris Carlton; great grandchildren, Di Anna, Sarah, Jason, Justin, Hannah, Josh, Chris, Jennifer, Haleigh, McKenzie, Cassie, Kayla, Madison, Stephen, Matthew, Caitlin, Arden, Libby, and Rachel; nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends.
