Betty Ellen Jernigan, 92, of Columbus passed away on February 28, 2012. She was born July 19, 1919 to the late Harry and Maude Swink. Other than her parents Mrs. Jernigan was preceded in death by her husband; Vernon W. Jernigan. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and a member of the Seasoned Saints at Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son; Jerry (Terri) Jernigan of Box Springs, four daughters; Jane Ferrell of Columbus, Judy (David) Jackson of Cuthbert, Janice (Bill) Stith of Columbus and Jeannie (Don) Hickman of Midland, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 12 noon, Friday, March 2, 2012 at Parkhilll Cemetery with Jim Morgan officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus.
