Bobbie Glorene Burt

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14th in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday, July 13th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia.

Glorene was born on December 12, 1933 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Herbert Lee Chambley and Annie Belle Spradlin Chambley. She was a resident of Midland, Georgia. Glorene was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Franklin Burt, her brother, Douglas L. Chambley (Zenith), and her three sisters, Evelyn Railey (Lewis), Doris Richards and Helen Storey (Henry).

Glorene took great pride in her family and was married to her grade school sweetheart for 69 years. They met when they were in the third grade and married eleven years later in 1953. Glorene enjoyed gardening, traveling and dancing with her true love, Grady. She also enjoyed taking wonderful care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her three children, daughter, Sheila Goforth, sons, Mark Burt (Barbara), and Dwight Burt (Jennifer) all of Midland, Georgia, five grandchildren, Jayson Cullifer (Amber), Justin Cullifer, Randall Minter (Vic), Kendall Burt, and Grady Burt and five great grandchildren, Sawyer Williams, Khloie Cullifer, Saylor Cullifer, Nevaeh Greene and Louis Valentin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
