Brett was born on December 12, 1957 to Elizabeth and Ellis Gant in Newark, New Jersey. He obtained a Master’s Degree from the Miami of Ohio University in 1982, he spent most of his life in Columbus, Georgia and worked for AFLAC for 30 years as an actuary. As an actuary, Brett was a member of FSA and MAAA, and traveled many times to Japan on official AFLAC business. He loved collecting art and objects, tennis, exercising, reading, and chess. He also enjoyed many long-lasting friendships. As an animal lover, he and Liz enjoyed their cats throughout the years.
He is survived by his loving wife Liz, his sister Lori Gant-Jacobsen (Charlie), his niece Jessi, cousins Adam and Jeffery, as well as an uncle, Niles Gant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Brett to PAWS Humane Society, 4900 Milgen Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
