Carol Hartley Shine

Funeral services for Mrs. Shine will be held at Morningside Baptist Church on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Thad Smith officiating. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the St Elmo room at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia.

Carol Hartley Shine was born on December 5, 1939 in Reynolds, Georgia to the late Lois V. and M.L. Hartley. She graduated from Reynolds High School. Carol was married to her high school sweetheart for 56 years. She was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gene Shine; three daughters: Margie J. Shine of Atlanta, Pamela Shine Caves and her husband, Sammy of Columbus, and Babs Shine Winkler of Columbus. She was a very loving grandmother and great grandmother to her nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren: Amanda DeNamur, Whitni Waldrop and her husband Mulford, Blake DeNamur, Addison Winkler, Austin Winkler, Alexander Caves, Elise Winkler, Batten Caves, and Lillie Mills Caves, and her great grandchildren, Ford, Blakley, and Amelia Waldrop. She is also survived by her twin brother Harold Hartley and his wife Judy Hartley, and brothers Frank Hartley and Marvin Hartley.
