Charles “Chuck” Melvin Hunt III, age 63, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. A graveside celebration of life for Charles will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
Charles was born October 1, 1957 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to Betty Jean Long and Charles Melvin Hunt II. Charles attended Spencer High School. The majority of his career was spent at Aquarius Pools in Columbus, GA. Later in life he became a plumber and handyman working alongside Charles Brown Plumbing. He lived his life day to day enjoying hobbies such as fishing and golf. He was also an avid Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Volunteers fan. He loved being with his family and friends for a good meal and would often be heard laughing and making jokes. Charles’ greatest legacy was instilling the value of family in his sons to share with the future generations to come. Charles will be remembered as a good man, a good friend, a great dad and grandfather. He will be missed by many.
Charles was preceded in death by his father Charles Melvin Hunt II. and mother Betty Jean Long. He is survived by former spouse Lisa Leatherwood, son Joshua Hunt; and son Jason Hunt (Kathryn); grandchildren Haley Martin, Cameron Hunt and Tristan Hunt. Charles also leaves behind other cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, best friends (Dave Oplinger and Rusty Brown) and many other friends to cherish his memory.
