Chipp H. Gentry, age 62, resident of Opelika, Alabama, died on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at his residence. Graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus on Saturday, December 5, 2015, 10 a.m. with Reverend Phil Grimes officiating , according to Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5-7 p.m.
Mr. Gentry, son of the late Raymond Gentry and Evelyn Tomera Farrer Gentry, was born April 16, 1953 in Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served his country honorably during the Vietnam Era Conflict.
Mr. Gentry is survived by one son, Joshua J. Gentry of Tillery, North Carolina; two brothers, Chuck Gentry of Opelika, Alabama and Thor Gentry of Phenix City, Alabama; one sister, Tomera Gentry of Columbus; one granddaughter, Dee Dee; many other relatives and friends.
