Dan Alton Ginn

Dan Alton Ginn, 86, of Ellerslie, GA passed away on March 10, 2021. He was born on February 1, 1935 in Ellerslie to Roy Alton Ginn and Janie Thomason Ginn. He was preceded in death by his wife Sigelind, his brother Clyde and his sisters Geraldine and Evelyn.

Dan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in the 1950’s and was stationed for a time in Greenland at Thule Air Base. He retired from Reliance Gas Company after many years of loyal service.

He is survived by his son Randy (Beth) of Peachtree City, GA, his daughter Dana Ginn of Columbus, GA, daughter Rhonda (Tom) McGrath of Hertford, NC and daughter Amy Ginn of Florida as well as his step daughter Carolyn Childers and her son Orion of Waverly, GA. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. In addition he is survived by his brothers Billy (Jane) Ginn and Charles (Sue) Ginn and his sister Myrtice Langford, all of Ellerslie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank his caregiver Alise Ginn for her help and dedication.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Family members are requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Columbus Hospice.
