Daniel D. Darrah "DD" died at his home Thursday, March 24th, 2022 at the age of seventy. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Marshall Darrah Sr. He is survived by his mother, Louise Raines Martin of Plains Georgia; his sister, Patsy Darrah Ritch of Plains, Georgia; his brother, Harold "Marshall" Darrah Jr., of Thomasville, Georgia; his son, Shane Brooks Darrah Sr., and his wife, Deanna Arrant Darrah; and two grandchildren; Isabelle Jones Darrah and Shane "Brooks" Darrah Jr. Daniel lived the majority of his life in Columbus. He had a passion for cars, and during his life owned countless numbers of corvettes. Many of his close friends were initially connected to him through the car business in some way. He spent most of his career as a used car salesman at Bill Heard Chevrolet in Columbus. He was a dynamic salesman. Daniel was quite the "wheeler-dealer," and observations of his father on the car lot impressed upon his son the excitement of business. Even though he would later pursue a career in medicine, those impressions would inspire his son Shane to become an entrepreneur. Retirement and the return of Shane and his family to Columbus would change Daniel's focus to family and friends. Daniel treasured time with Brooks and Isabelle. He also loved spending time with his friends whom he had known for decades. A graveside service will be held at Seale United Methodist Church for family and close friends on Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at 11:00AM.
