Dorothy Greene Robinson Boland

Dorothy Greene Robinson Boland, 101, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Vista Care Center at Franciscan Woods.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, April 15, 2011 at Parkhill Cemetery, with Dr. Hal Brady, Reverend Cynthia Garrard and Reverend Cindy Bennett officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boland, daughter of the late Benjamin Greene and Lula Stripling Greene was born March 23, 1910 in Columbus.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Louie Nunn Robinson Sr., and later Charles K. Boland Sr.; 2 Sisters Ethel Greene Sweat, and Vashti Greene Morton, and1 brother Benjamin Green.

Mrs. Boland was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she had played the piano for her Sunday School

Class in former years. She had also enjoyed working as a Volunteer Pink Lady for the gift shop in the Medical Center. In

later years she was the Hostess for Louie Louie's restaurant.

Survivors include 1 son, Louie Nunn Robinson Jr. (Carol) of Columbus, GA; 1 step-son Charles K. Boland Jr. (Kay) Waverley Hall, GA, 2 granddaughters, Lisa Robinson Whitacre (Jim) of Cape Coral FL, Eileen Robinson Stillwell (Mark) of Salem AL;

2 grandsons Charles K. Boland III of Atlanta and Ernest Boland of Chattanooga TN; 1 sister in law, Edna Robinson of Columbus, GA, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
