Dr. Pablo De Luna Foronda Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father Gerard Schreck officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. A rosary will be said at 6:00 PM Monday, August 8, 2011 at the funeral home, visitation to follow the rosary.

Dr. Foronda was born August 17, 1930 in Manila, Philippines, son of the late Pablo Foronda, Sr., and Eugenia De Luna Foronda. In addition to his parents, Dr. Foronda was preceded in death by a brother, Father Rolando Foronda.

He graduated from University Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines in 1959 with a Doctorate Degree, specializing in Family Practice. He retired from Civil Service at Ft. Benning, GA where he practiced as a Family Practice Physician at Martin Army Community Hospital. Dr. Foronda was a member of F.A.A of Columbus, Bayanihan of Columbus, and the Medical Association of Florida. Dr. Foronda was also a faithful parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church.

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Maria Luisa Del Rosario Foronda of Midland, GA; his daughter, Grace Marie M. Foronda of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Renato L. Foronda, Sr. and his wife, Nieves T. of Chicago, IL; one brother in law, Roberto Del Rosario of Midland, GA; four nephews, Renato Foronda, Jr., John Foronda, Jerry Foronda, and JoJo Foronda; one niece, MaryAnn Foronda.
