Edna C. Black

A private cryptside service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.

Mrs. Black was born on April 1, 1930 in Cornelia, GA, to the late Fred and Mabel Keller Young. She graduated from Cornelia high school. Soon after graduating Edna married the love of her life, Dr. J.P. Black, and worked in his dental office for thirty years. Edna had a passion for traveling and visiting new places. She loved the outdoors and flowers. Mrs. Black was loved by so many people.

In addition to her parents, her husband of 59 years, Dr. James P. Black and grandson Phillip Black preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Jon Black; two daughters, Melanie Oates (Keith) and Lisa Brandon (Chris); one God daughter, Dr. Pastor Penny Jones; two grandchildren, Megan Norton and Sarah Boney; three great grandchildren Cheyanne Norton, Landon Boney and Charlotte Boney; and a host of relatives and friends.
