Edward Speed Chapman Sr., age 90, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018. Edward was born October 9, 1927 in Lyon, Mississippi. He is the son of James Larkin Chapman and ZoElla Speed Chapman. Edward was a member of the United States Army, retiring after 30 years of service. He served tours in Vietnam and Korea as an Operating Room Technician and as a Medic.
A visitation of family and friends for Edward will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, Columbus, Georgia. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Ft. Benning Post Cemetery, Ft. Benning, Georgia.
He is preceded in death by: his wife Catherine; his parents; and two brothers Billy Chapman and James Thomas Chapman. Survivors include: a daughter, Kathleen Chapman; two sons, Edward S. Chapman Jr., James N. Chapman; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and one brother Charles Ray Chapman.
