Edward Eugene Turnage, age 63, passed away peacefully on April 27th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted family man and an avid outdoorsman, Ed lived life with passion, integrity, and an unwavering love for nature.
Born on August 18th, Ed was known for his adventurous spirit and deep connection to the wilderness. Whether he was casting a line on a quiet lake or tracking deer through the woods, his love for the nature was evident to everyone who knew him. Although he loved the outdoors, his heart rested comfortably at home.
Known for his role as a devoted father, grandfather, devoted spouse, and friend, Ed left a lasting impact on his community and everyone he encountered. For all his life, Ed worked in the construction business alongside his brother Ricky. He was not just an employee but a steadfast professional who took pride in every aspect of his work. His knowledge and skill of his trade is one that can never be replaced.
Ed is survived by his devoted girlfriend of 13 years, Miranda Carpenter; his children, Jennifer Jackson, Brittni Turnage, Summer Turnage and Robert Turnage; his step-children, Shalynn Curenton, Tyler Wages and Zack Wages; His father Robert Turnage; His brother Richard Turnage and his wife Lisa Turnage; His brother, Danny Sanders and his wife Sabrina Sanders; As well as all of his grandchildren.
In his passing, Ed is reunited with his mother Dorothy Sanders, his step-father Tommy Sanders, and his grand-daughters Katelyne and Johanna.
Ed will forever be remembered for his rugged spirit, immense love for his family, his prideful work, and his love for the outdoors. His legacy is one that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
May his soul rest in peace, forever embraced by the wilderness he loved.
A visitation for the family and friends of Edward will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
