It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Edwin Daniel Gregory. Who we’ve known as “Danny”, on October 12, 2022 at the age 66, of Columbus, GA. Although born in Anchorage, Alaska, his family moved to Columbus, Georgia when he was young. Danny use to joke with everyone and say he was an Eskimo.
Danny was always energetic, outgoing and was a wild spirited man, you could not hold him back even if you wanted to. He had stories for days, and a smile out of this world. Danny entered the Navy on August 13, 1975 until he was honorably discharged due to disability on August 27, 1979. He enjoyed fishing with family and friends when he wasn’t working. Danny had a passion for helping others, and was a caregiver/CNA to many patients, he felt as if they were friends more than his patients. He met Patti young in 1986, when they worked together at Po Folks.
They had two children, Brittany Gregory and Bradley Young. Danny loved music especially Pink Floyd and Elvis Presley. He was a determined traveling man. If he got the urge to do something or go somewhere, spur of the moment that is exactly what he did! From the beaches in Texas, the mountains of Pennsylvania, to the city life of California.
He will be missed by his daughter, Brittany Gregory; grandchildren, Riley Lennon, Ashton Gregory, Serenity Gregory, and Garrett Gregory; son, Bradley Young; sisters, Debbie (David) Johnson, Rebecca Albritton (Nathan), Teresa Brock; brothers, Charlie (Kathy) Gregory, and Bobby Gregory; mother Sybil Gregory; many nieces and nephews, friends and other family.
On October 12, 2022, when he passed away and went to be with the Lord. Although he left so soon, we know he is at peace and giving the Lord the best laughs of history. Until we meet again, remember we love and miss you dearly.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Danny will be inurned at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery at a later date for family and friends to visit at their own preferences.
