Emma Laura Welch

Emma Laura Welch, 80, of Phenix City passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 20, 1931 in Banks, Alabama to the late Milton Berry Jordan and Missouri Arrington Jordan.

Funeral services for Mrs. Welch will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus, with Reverend Howard White officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott Dorer, Steven Dorer, Timothy Welch, Andrew Fairbanks, Jeff Lee, Jed Lee and Donald Benefield. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Welch will be from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the funeral home.

Other than her parents Mrs. Welch was preceded in death by her husbands, James W. Welch and John D. Ingram and a daughter Dian I. Benefield.

Survivors include her children; Judy Dorer and her husband Rick, Patty Parker and her husband Bobby, Jimmy R. Welch and his wife Kay, and Laura Welch, two sisters; Dorothy Lee, and Mavis Green, fourteen grandchildren; John R. Dorer,II, Steven M. Dorer, Scott A. Dorer, Marie Wilson, Brooke Fairbanks, Amanda Phillips, Candice L. Ellis, Jimmy R. Welch, II, Janet L. Williams, Timothy J. Welch, Cameron L. Welch, Christopher Stark, Ryan Stark, and Elizabeth Reyes, and 19 great-grandchildren.
