Emogene G. Wells

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday January 28, 2012 at Central Baptist Church, 8303 Whitesville Road, Columbus, Georgia 31904 with entombment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. The family will receive friends and family Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wells was born August 25, 1922 in Lumpkin, Georgia daughter of the late Robert H. Goodwin and Emma Ruth Snipes Goodwin and preceded in death by her husband, Lester W. Wells and grandson, Scott Wells. Mrs. Wells was a homemaker, a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary, the Woman’s Missionary Union and a charter member of Central Baptist Church.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Jerry G. (Brenda) Wells, Robyn W. (Gaye) Wells, Randy A. (Melissa) Wells, her daughter, Jill W. (Dennis) Peterson, 8 grandchildren, Jeff, Adora, Leslie, Ethan and Peyton Wells, Wayne, Holly and Lee Peterson, 5 great grandchildren, Justina and Jazmynn Wells, Kynlea Morris, Heaven and Serenity Stelly.

In lieu of flowers, make contributions to Gideons, Central Baptist Church, Columbus, Georgia or to Columbus Hospice.
