

Ethlyn Janice Ford (affectionately known as Neasy and Granny), passed away on March 3, 2025. Janice, a long-time resident of Columbus, Georgia was born in Macon,Georgia the eldest child of James Thomas Wright and Vera Ethlyn Wright.
She attended Mercer University but after a whirlwind romance, married Donald Edward Ford on August 2, 1953 who at the time was in the Air Force. At the tender age of 19, they moved to France where they shared their most precious memories. Don left the military and they later moved to Baltimore, Maryland and then settled in Columbus, GA where they lived their final years. Don passed away on December 27, 2022. They were married for 69 Years.
Janice is remembered as a devoted full-time mother and a full-time volunteer not shying away from any challenge. Later in life, she worked as a dedicated employee with her husband at Don’s Fine Foods in Phenix City, Alabama until their retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Joe Thomas Wright. Her memory lives on through her five children, Diane Marie Awtrey, Deborah Ann Magner, Mary Louise White, Donald Edward Ford, Jr., Patricia Anne Giles,13 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.
Janice will be deeply missed, but her legacy will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her. Her graveside service will be on Thursday, March 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
