Francis Ann Drake

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Fairview Baptist Church with Reverend Tom Owensby and Reverend Jimbo Albrecht officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Fairview Baptist.

Mrs. Drake was born on August 25, 1935 to the late Richard Steinke and Ellen Rose Pageloff Steinke. She has lived in Columbus since 1986 and was retired from Civil Service. She was an active member of Fairview Baptist where she served on various committee's which include serving as the Librarian for many years and working with the AWANA program. Mrs. Drake volunteered with St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary for many years and was recognized with over 2000 hours of service.

Survivors include her husband, Harold E. Drake of Columbus, daughter, Debra Jones and husband Steve of Lithia, FL, son, David Phelps and wife Pam of San Antonio, TX, stepson, Shawn Hale of Miami, FL, stepdaughters, Sharon Drake Miller, Boulder, CO, Sharla Drake Roe, Jacksonville, FL, brother, Herman Steinke of Belvidere, IL, and sister, Bernace Williams of Arlington, TX, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the building fund at Fairview Baptist Church. Condolences may be offered at www.shcolumbus.com.
