

Mr. Borders was born June 14, 1933 in Carrolton, Georgia to the late Frank Merton Borders, Sr. and Albera Doss Borders. Mr. Borders attended Jordan High School he was very active in sports, and was a Lt. Colonel in the ROTC program at Jordan. He coached Babe Ruth baseball and won the Georgia State Champion in 1971. Mr. Borders was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church. He was retired as Vice President of sales with Swift Textile.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 from 2-3pm, in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will follow at 3pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 in Edgewood Hall, with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 63 plus years Mary “Petey” Borders, three children, Nancy Gordon, Bobby Borders, and Patti Hathaway and husband Joe, one sister, Kathryn Taylor and husband Jeff, granddaughter, Robyn Keen and husband Allen and Khole, a nephew, Jon Hobbs and a great-niece, Jada Hobbs.
