Geneva McDaniel

Geneva McDaniel, age 83, resident of Columbus, died on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Monday, August 12, 2013, 1 p.m. with Reverend David Howle officiating. Interment will follow at Riverdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. Mrs. McDaniel, daughter of the late Sidney William Reynolds and Allie Ham Reynolds, was born June 4, 1930 in Smarrs, Georgia. She attended Rose Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Columbus Regional Medical Center where she faithfully worked in the Psychiatric Unit for over 22 years. Mrs. McDaniel enjoyed being with family, cooking, and line dancing at the Gallops Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rawleigh McDaniel; six sisters; and one brother. Mrs. McDaniel is survived by one daughter, Gail Hall of Columbus; one son, Stevie McDaniel of Columbus; one granddaughter, Jessica Smith of Smiths, Alabama; one grandson, Jessie Hall and his wife Lacey of Columbus; one great-grandson, Micah Smith; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
