

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 11, 2012 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.
Visitation for Mr. Floyd will be from 6-8 pm, Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the funeral home.
H. Jack Floyd was born January 19, 1931 in Columbus, Georgia to the late Harvey Floyd and Katherine Hales Ray. He served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. In 1949 Jack "Slugger" Floyd had what still holds today the longest kickoff return of 98 yards in High school, city of Columbus.
Survivors include two sons, Marcus Floyd and his wife Shelly of Greenville, AL, Steve Floyd and his wife Theresa of Pike Road, AL, two daughters, Ginger Whitted and her husband Mitchell of Thomasville, GA, Terry Joann Braatz and her husband Robert of Sun Prairie, WI., two sisters, Beverly Ellerbee and Charlotte Gordon, one brother, Mike Ray, eight grandchildren, Megan, and Mason Floyd, Kayla Dreher and her husband Blake, Kristine and Karlie Whitted, Jason and Adam Braatz, Steven Floyd, and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Emily Grace Dreher.
