Hersey Gatling Sumner

Hersey is survived by his daughter Leigh Barfield (Stephen D. Barfield); and his son Gatling Sumner (Flo); his sister Lil Lipsitz (Lee) and sister-in-law Sophia Perry Sumner (Grady); granddaughters Holly Sumner Taft (Bill) and Megan Sumner Richard (Mike); great grandchildren Tyler and Tristen Taft and Jackson and Ella Richard.

Hersey was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sarah Annie Gunn Sumner; his father Grady Woodfin Sumner and his mother Mary Gatling Sumner; his brothers Grady and Albert and his sister Caroline Sumner Goss.

Mr. Sumner also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and other family members to cherish his loving memory.

A private graveside service for Hersey will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
