SSG (Ret.) Howard Louis Miller

Graveside funeral service will be held in Parkhill Cemetery on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Military Honors. Family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Wildwood room at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, Georgia. Flowers will be accepted, if one wishes the family ask that donations can to be made to Girls, Inc. of Columbus or to the American Cancer Society at www.acscan.org.

Howard L. Miller son of the late Lewis J. Miller and Vera M. Parker Miller was born on May 6, 1933 in Ozark, Alabama. He lived in Columbus most of his life and was retired from the U.S. Army honorably serving his country for over 21 years. During his distinguished career he served in the Vietnam Conflict and other military assignments. He recently retired from Girls, Inc. of Columbus. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Howard is survived by his wife, Carrie Miller; daughter, Marie Duncan; stepdaughters, Caitlin Cortes and Allison Cortes; son Steve (Carol) Miller; sister, Faye Faulkner; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and his canine best friend “Fatboy”.
