

Hungshia Tullia, 85, a recent resident of Arlington, Virginia, passed away, Thursday, August 15, 2013. Family and friends are welcome to attend Hungshia’s funeral service at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Friday, August 23, 2013 at 9am. with family receiving friends for breakfast reception at 8 am. She will be interred alongside her husband in the Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery.
Hungshia emigrated from Suzhou, China to Tokyo, Japan where she met and married the late CWO2 Emmett Albert Tullia.
Hungshia was a long time resident of Columbus, Georgia. She was a full time mother until widowed, with six children, at an early age. She then worked many years in the Supply Division at Fort Benning, GA, where she supplied her sons’ military units during Desert Storm. She was an active member of the TIC Chapel and taught children’s’ Sunday school for 30 years. She was also “Mom” to many of her sons’ military friends when they trained and schooled at Fort Benning.
Hungshia is survived by two daughters, Billie Jo Blevins-Boniface of King George, VA and Sandy Ripperger of El Dorado Hills, CA; four sons, Thomas Tullia of Burke, VA, Emmett Tullia II of Austin, TX, Terrance Tullia of Arlington, VA and Steven Tullia of Sayville, Long Island; eight grandchildren: Nicholas Blevins, Kirsten Tullia, Rachel Tullia, Matthew Tullia, Caitlin Tullia, Miranda Ripperger, Ryan Ripperger and Kevin Ripperger; two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Bai Chee Lee, Mrs. Foo San Su and Mr. Harry Ma, all of Seattle, WA.
