

PO1 (USN Ret) James "Jim" Crouch, age 74, resident of Columbus, died on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Columbus Hospice House. Visitation will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. Private interment will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama.
Mr. Crouch, son of the late William Walton Crouch and Grace Elaine Riggs Crouch, was born January 11, 1939 in Register, Georgia. He was retired from the U.S. Navy where he served honorably for over 22 years during the Vietnam Era Conflict. During his distinguished career in the military, he served as a meteorologist, receiving numerous medals, ribbons, and awards for his meritorious service.
Mr. Crouch is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann Crouch of Columbus; one daughter, Jennifer Crouch and her fiancé Kerry Unternahrer; one sister, Gail Hamlin of Douglasville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Adam Lambert of Smiths Station, Chelsea Lambert of Columbus, and Lee Lambert of Opelika, Alabama; other relatives and friends.
