Mr. Hardy (commonly referred to as “PawPaw”) was the beloved husband of the late Elfin E. Hardy. He was a retired Civil Service Employee. He and “Nanny” had babysat children in their home for 30 years.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Hilton Terrace Baptist Church Chapel, with Chaplin Norman Drummond officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
He leaves behind four sons, James G. Hardy, Jr., Douglas M. Hardy, William David Hardy all of Columbus, Georgia, and Roger Dean Hardy of Asheville, North Carolina; seven grandchildren: Michele, Jennifer, Shawn, Shannon, Kimberly, Crystal, and Roger Jr., many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hardy was born on April 19, 1923 in Phenix City, Alabama son of the late William W. Hardy and Nambler V. Hardy also of Phenix City, Alabama. Mr. Hardy was a lifetime resident of Columbus, Georgia. He was a member of Crystal Valley Baptist Church.
