Jeanne “Pat” Norris Walters died on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at St. Francis Hospital. A church service will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul Church of Columbus, with the Reverend Dr. Shane Green officiating.
Pat Walters was born January 2, 1937, in Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of Edward and Jeanne Norris. She was a graduate of Columbus High School and attended Auburn University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
Mrs. Walters married her husband, Joseph R. Walters in 1957 and welcomed three daughters in the following years. Together they were owners of the Ethan Allen Carriage House, Inc. from 1972 until 2000. She also served on the board of the Historic Linwood Foundation. Mrs. Walters was a member of St. Paul Church of Columbus, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, multiple garden clubs, and was a Master Gardener.
Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Richardson Walters, a daughter Lenora Ashley Walters, and a brother, Edward Norris, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Walters Mingledorff (Joel) and Laura Walters Byrd (William); and two grandchildren, Ashley Redding Byrd Allen (Thomas) and William Newton Byrd III. She was also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
