
Jerome “Jerry” Brannon, 75, of Columbus, GA, passed away peacefully October 18, 2013, under the watchful care of Columbus Hospice. He was born November 5, 1937, the 9th and last child of Albert and Mary Jane Tindel Brannon, in Graceville, FL.
Like many longtime residents in the Columbus Area, Jerry came from “Down Home” to Columbus seeking employment in the Textile Industry. He began working at Eagle& Phenix Mill, and transitioned to a Termite Inspection Technician in homes, and businesses in the Valley Area.
Along with his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Sarah George Brannon, brothers; Jessie Love, Thomas Eugene, and Albert Linbird Brannon, sisters; Lessie Myrl Hughes, Ella Mae Peters, and Ethen Marie Prophitt. He is survived by son, Jerry LaMon Brannon and wife Nancy, daughter Melisa A. Bass and husband David, grandchildren; Jessica Brannon Gallent, Garrett Brannon, Brannon Thompson, Jacob Bass, and Coty Bass, and his faithful companion and pet Lizzy.
Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2013 5:00-7:00 PM in the St. Elmo room at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA. The Funeral service and Entombment will be at The Chapel of The Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery, Macon Road, Tuesday, October 22, 2013, 3:00 PM with Minister Rodger Johnson officiating, according to Striffler- Hamby.
