Joan Phillips

Joan Lovell Price Phillips, 81, of Columbus, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2026. A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Joan was born on November 2, 1944, in Enterprise, Alabama to Eva Allen and Henry Price and was the youngest of 12 children. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus, Georgia where many people knew her as “Mama Joan”. She was known best as a homemaker and helping people in any way that she could. She enjoyed sewing and listening to gospel music as well as attending gospel concerts.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Terrance R. Phillips; her parents, Henry and Eva Price; her brothers, Lawrence, Lonnie, Bouga and Douglas Price; her sisters, Lois Gilchrest, Dorothy Johnson, Irene Walker, Mildred Singleton and Thelma Richardson and her first husband, Clarence Mason. She is survived by her children, Terri Lee Mason (Tracy), Donnie Mason (MaryAnn) and Angela Phillips Wadkins (Chase Spakes); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Strellner and Kyle Mason; many nieces and nephews and adopted friends.

The family will welcome friends and extended family to fellowship after the service at Joan’s home.
