Johnnie Elie Daffin

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2011 at Edgewood Baptist Church with Reverend David Howle officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, December 11, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Daffin was born December 17, 1930 in Marianna, FL, son of the late Charlie Leo and Myrtle Sills Daffin. He graduated from Auburn University in 1963 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Management. Mr. Daffin was the owner and operator of Daffin’s Meat Processing. He was also a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and the Encourager’s Sunday School Class. Mr. Daffin will be remembered for his generosity toward everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Daffin was preceded in death by two brothers, Angus Daffin, and Lonnie Daffin; three sisters, Evelyn Rachels, Minnie Ola Houseknecht, and Ethel Jane Abercrombie.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53years, Martha E. Daffin of Columbus, GA; three children, Alisa Daffin Tate and her husband, Toby of Hickory, NC, Johnny Daffin and his wife, Martha of Columbus, GA, and Jason Daffin and his wife, Tracy of Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren, Sarah Jane Tate, Carter Tate, Austin Tate, Eliza Daffin, Johnny Daffin, III, Billy Daffin, Jason Daffin, Ellie Daffin, and Emerson Daffin; two sisters, Elizabeth Pafford, and Murlee Mizell.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in memory of Mr. Daffin to The Valley Rescue Mission, 2903 2nd Avenue, Columbus, GA, 31904.
