Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA with Dr. Jason Wade, senior Pastor of Wynnton Methodist Church officiating the services. The family will receive friends on Wednesday 30 minutes prior to the services. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Joseph was born in Columbus, GA. on August 17, 1940 and was the son of the late Joseph Barrington Batastini, Sr. and Mary Culpepper Batastini. He was the husband of 44 years to Dorothy Brown Batastini of Columbus, GA. Joseph had a daughter from a previous marriage, Michelle Batastini Green of Buena Vista, GA, One sister, Patsy Singleton preceded him in death. He is survived by a sister, Mary Joyce Roberts, and two brothers, George Batastini (Christine) and Lee Batastini. He has one grandchild, great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Joseph was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church for over 30 years and attended Wynnton Methodist Church for 44 years. He served as President of the Chattahoochee Chatters CB Club. He was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and chaired the only State Convention in Columbus. Joseph helped open and made Veri Best Donuts for nine years on Brennen Road. He was an institutional food salesman for 40 years with Valley Produce and Auten Poultry.
