

Joey was born on September 13, 1953, in Columbus, Georgia; the son of Joseph N. Macon Sr. and Ilene Lewis Macon. He grew up in Columbus, graduated from Kendrick High School and attended Columbus Tech. Joey was married to the love of his life, Debby Camp, for 28 years. Joey was a public servant throughout most of his life, serving first with the Columbus, GA Fire Department/EMS as a paramedic and later as a Deputy of the Marion County, GA, Sheriff’s office. He retired from Pratt-Whitney as a Plant Protection Officer. He was a selfless man with a big heart, a loving person who always cared about others as he served them and protected them. Joey shared many things with his family including instilling a strong work ethic in his children and grandchildren. His children, grandchildren, niece and nephew were fortunate to be taught how to drive by him and learn from his many life experiences. He taught them numerous other things throughout life, including how to treat one another, how to care for each other and how to care for our pets. Joey always loved working with horses, fishing and car racing. Joey loved the Lord, life and everything that was a part of his family. His family meant the world to him, including his dogs and horses.
He is preceded in death by: his father, Joseph N. Macon Sr.; a sister, Jolene Macon Herczeg; and a nephew, Stevie Herczeg.
Survivors include: his wife, Debby Macon; his mother, Ilene Macon; a daughter, Kelli McManus; two sons, Andy (Devin) Rolling; Seth (Kinsey) Rolling; 10 grandchildren, Bret, Avery, Carter, Davis, Parker, Mae, Abe, Elin, Charlie, Ellie; a nephew, Christopher (Vicki) Brennan; a niece, Katie Herczeg; and many other loving family and friends. Joey was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
