Joshua Christian Jacobs of Columbus, GA, passed on May 15, 2024. Joshua was born September 16, 1996 to Beverly Rogers Gardner in Riverdale, GA. He graduated from Early College Academy of Columbus in May of 2015 then continued his education at Columbus State University, graduating on May 15, 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He was accepted into the Master’s Program for Occupational Leadership at Columbus State University for Fall 2024 semester. He graduated high school in the top of his class, he received several scholarships, and he graduated college with high marks. Joshua was also a Lead Business Office Associate at CarMax for the past two years.
Joshua was extremely smart person, who loved music, dancing and making “dad jokes.” Joshua could see the humor in almost every situation. He was passionate about music and finances. He was practical, good at math, and even enjoyed art. He was sensitive, kind and rarely had a negative word to say to anyone. He was always the good kid in school and followed the rules instead of breaking them. He believed in saving every penny but was always there for the people he loved.
He was knowledgeable, smart—but humble—and a dedicated and hard worker. He wanted to be successful entrepreneur and give back to others. After finishing his Master’s Degree in Occupational Leadership, Joshua’s plan was to help the community by assisting disadvantaged youth, foster care children, and any family who had helped him along the way—like his sister, who he loved very much.
He loved his family unconditionally. He often forgave them for any wrongdoings, and was the cornerstone of the family. He loved his brothers and sister very much. Joshua’s legacy is one of caring, leadership, and forgiveness. Joshua will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
Joshua Jacobs is survived by Dawnell Corine Jacobs (Sister), her children Donali Naima Jacobs (Niece) and Lakeisha Ann Jacobs (Niece), her grandchildren Essence Jacobs and Georgia Jacobs; Jason Emmanuel Jacobs (Brother), his wife Ryaen Jacobs (Sister-in-law) and his daughter Vaughn Miles (Niece), and First Lieutenant David Marshall Jacobs (Brother).
