Juanita "Nita" Cox

A visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia, followed by graveside services at 2:00 PM in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia.

Nita was born in Eastover, SC on May 3, 1941 to the late Arthur Tillman and Mattie Ward. She was a lifelong area resident and an active member of Piney Grove Baptist Church in Fortson, GA. until 1998. Since 1999 she has been an active member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Ellerslie, GA, until her health would not allow. Nita was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Albert Wesley Carroll, Sr. and her second husband, Bobby R. Cox.

Survivors include her three children, Julie Carroll Barron of Fortson, GA, Kathy Carroll of Thomaston, GA. and Raymond Albert Wesley Carroll, Jr. (Natalie) of Moody, AL. a sister, Ruby Peaks of Columbia, SC, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
