

June J. Davis, age 79, resident of Columbus, died peacefully with her children at her side on Monday, October 18, 2010 at The Green House of Calvary, Columbus. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Thursday, October 21, 2010, 3 p.m. with Reverend Charles Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. Mrs. Davis, daughter of the late William Edward Johnson and Letha Neoma Johnson, was born October 3, 1931 in Forsyth, MO. She was a member of Wynnbrook Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, James Elton Davis, Sr., two grandsons, Travis Langdon Smith and Kenneth Hodges Callaway, Jr.; and a son-in-law, James L. Shield, II. She is survived by three daughters, Sherri Davis Callaway and her husband Ken of Hamilton, GA, Patricia Davis Gullick and her husband Sam of Portland, ME, and Jennifer Shield Ratliff and her husband Gene of Fort Worth, TX; one son, James E. Davis, Jr. and his wife Linda of Zephyrhills, FL; one brother, William Neal Johnson and his wife Arlene of Forsyth, MO; one sister, Patricia Johnson Bathen-Moore and her husband Lindell Moore, also of Forsyth, MO; nine grandchildren, Katii, Jordan, Caitlyn, Trey, Ryan, Callan, Hayley, Patrick, and Hollis; other relatives and friends. She was a loving and caring mother and will be missed by her family.
