She was born on March 15, 1955 to the late Martha Roper Kennon and Edward Royce Kennon. Kathy was a native of Columbus she attended schools here and received a criminal justice degree. She worked with the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office for over 30 years, retiring as a Sergeant. Kathy was married to the late Leon Irving Bailey, Jr. She loved to work in her yard, play tennis and spending time with her family. Most of all she had great joy spending time with her grandchildren, they were her universe.
Kathy is survived by her daughters; Mistie Herring and her husband, Chris and Melissa Bailey; her adored grandchildren: Chase Herring and Katie Beth Herring all of Columbus, Georgia; her siblings: David Kennon and his wife Doris of LaGrange, Georgia, Teresa Ellison and her husband Bill of Ellerslie, Georgia and Vicki Earnest of Columbus, Georgia; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Parkhill Cemetery Columbus, Georgia.
