Kiyoko Boggs of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Boggs was born on March 18, 1932 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan. She has been a resident of Columbus since 1964. She was known to her family as Obachan and friends as Ms. Kay and was a familiar face at Country’s Barbecue on Mercury Drive for over 25 years.
Mrs. Boggs was preceded in death by her parents, Risaku Ikeda and Kikue Tokunaga Ikeda and her husband, Albert Boggs. She is survived by her children: John (Sandy) Boggs, Robert (Deborah) Boggs, Kathy (Traci) Boggs and Patty Boggs; her grandchildren: Christie (Joel) Grewe, Thomas (Stacey) Boggs, Shannon (Beau) Saiers, Jeremy Golden, Chase Boggs, Preston Boggs, Xavier Gamboa, and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers, multiple nieces and nephews in Japan.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in the Mill Room at Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to your favorite charity in her name.
