Lillian was a member of Living Grace United Methodist Church (previously Edgewood Methodist) since 1963. She was active volunteer at church and schools, including Girl Scout troop leadership and Cub Scout den assistance. She was active in the Garden Club for many years. She enjoyed painting, sewing, traveling, reading, floral arrangements, camping, outdoor walks, gardening and cooking.
Lillian previously was employed at Kirvin’s Department Store (Downtown Columbus and then at the Columbus Square mall store) working in the cosmetics department.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Irma and Clyde Choquette and sister, Helen Choquette Bachman.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Walter H. Foster of Columbus, GA.; daughter, Debra Foster Mallett of Columbus, GA (late husband, William); son, Kevin L. Foster of St. Charles, MO (wife, Connie).
She is also survived by grandchildren, Grant Mallett (Delran NJ), Travis Mallett (Columbus GA), Sean Mallett (Columbus GA), Julia Foster (Kansas City MO) and one great-grandchild, Marceline Mallett.
A memorial service will be held at Striffler Hamby Mortuary in the Mill Room on Sunday, November 10th at 2pm. Prior to the memorial service, there will be a visitation held at the Mill room the same day starting at 1pm for friends and family.
