Mrs. Redden was born June 12, 1946, to Judge Olan A. and Elbertine Tompkins Slayton. She attended Wynnton Elementary School and Columbus High School and graduated from Jordan High School in 1964. She also attended Perry Business College.
She was a lifelong member of St. Luke Church, the George Walton Chapter DAR, and the Major Fields Chapter Colonial Dames.
Mrs. Redden is preceded in death by her parents, Olan and Elbertine Slayton, her daughter Ellen Redden, and her sister Cecelia Slayton Erhardt. She is survived by her children, Jay Slayton Redden (Kelli) and Amy Redden Veale (Stewart); her grandchildren Hayden Redden Foxworth (Matthew), Anna Redden Pharr (Jim), Lillian Slayton Veale, William Walker Veale, Lyndsey Middleton (Will) and Dylan Collins; and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Peggy Slayton Gindville and nephew Dr. Samuel S. Gindville (Melissa). The family would like to thank the staff of Arabella Health & Wellness of Phenix City and St. Francis Hospital for their caring and support.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at St. Luke Church,1104 2nd Ave, Columbus, GA 31901.
