
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler- Hamby in Columbus, Georgia with graveside services following in Parkhill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 PM in the St. Elmo room at Striffler- Hamby. Honorary pallbearers are Grant Bowden, Reggie Dupriest, William Hix, Bill Johnson, H.P. Ritch, Charley Stephens, Larry Walker and Red Coleman.
Malcolm Lamar Brown was born in Columbus, Georgia to the late Bobbie Brown and Katie Lou Stubbs Brown. Mr. Brown retired from the Georgia Power Company after 42 years of service and was a member of Stephens Lodge F&AM 586 for over 50 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Robert Esmond Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris Reynolds Brown, daughters, Denise Brown Owens (Robert), Dianne Brown Gaultney, Debra Brown Young; sister Sue B. Goodman (Donnie); grandchildren, Corinne Bailey (Jason), Keath Bryan, Teal Gaultney, Jenny Richardson Reams and Chris Richardson (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Katie Hand, Jordan Hand, Sydney Reams, Sean Allen and Maisie Richardson; special niece Stacy C. Bondurant and special nephew Jeffery Malcolm Goodman (Daphne) and several other nieces and nephews.
