Marianne Kirner Smith

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia, 31907, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Funeral services will follow at the same location, starting at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.

Marianne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved taking care of her children and grandchildren. Marianne was the matriarch of her family. She was dedicated to every aspect of her family, her family was her universe. Marianne was married to the love of her life, Arnold D. Smith in Munich, Germany in May of 1955. They were married for 70 years. After Arnold retired from the U.S. Army, Columbus, Georgia became home.

Marianne leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her husband, Arnold D. Smith; children: Robert Smith (Barbara), Raymond Smith (Sharleen), and Melinda Addison (Chris); grandchildren: Jessica McKerrow (Gavin), Kelsey Litzinger (Adam), Terry Smith (Sherri), Kristin Wolfenbarger (Joey), Ashley Redondo (Lyndsey), Christopher Redondo (Natasha), Matthew Redondo (Julie); great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Amelia, Tyler, Maddison, Chloe, Rowan, and Theo; great great-grandchildren: Eli and Wes.
