Martha Jean (Elder) Daffin

Martha Jean was married to the love of her life Johnnie Elie Daffin for 53 years until his passing in 2011. She worked Civil Service at Fort Benning, retiring after 35 years. Martha Jean was a member of the Rosebud Sunday School Class at Edgewood Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed her activities and friends in the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed her many travels near and far with friends and family. She was the past president of ABWA, American Business Women's Association, and worked in the family business, Daffin's Meat Processing, for many years.

Other than her parents Martha Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Daffin, and her brother, Marvin Elder.

Martha Jean is survived by her three children, Alisa Daffin Tate (Toby), Johnny Daffin Jr. (Martha), Jason Daffin, and nine grandchildren, Sarah Jane Tate Walker, Carter Tate (Emily), Austin Tate, Eliza Daffin Obert (Brad), Johnny Daffin III, Billy Daffin, Jason Daffin Jr., Ellie Daffin, Emerson Daffin, and siblings, Joe Elder, Ricky Elder, and Mary Ellen Gaucin.

A graveside service for Martha Jean will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907.
