Martha W. Morgan

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 Pm Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Dr. Edwin M. Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. According to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus.

Mrs. Morgan was born January 19, 1920 in Waverly Hall, Georgia. She was the daughter of Walton Burtus and Myrtle Moore White. Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker and in her younger years, she enjoyed dancing, golf, and bridge. She was a charter member of the Iris Garden Club and a life member of the Medical Center Auxiliary with over 4000 hours of service. Mrs. Morgan was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Miller-Wilson Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her husband of 71 years, W.D. Morgan; one son Don Morgan and his wife Lilah of Ellerslie, GA; three grandchildren, Harrison Morgan, Hannah Davenport, and Luci Morgan; one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel W. Newsome, and brother, James W. White.
