Mary Elizabeth “Cochran” Boutwell, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022 in Brunswick, Georgia. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Mary came out strong until the end.
Mary is a native of Columbus, GA and graduated from Jordan High School. Mary went on to marry Sonny Boutwell and became a Homemaker. Being a mom was her greatest accomplishment. She loved her family with all of her heart. Mary was one of a kind; she was loud, funny, and loved to have fun. Her favorite hobbies were fishing, playing pool, scratch offs, drinking tequila, smoking cigarettes, watching Georgia Football and having a good time.
She is preceded in death by: her father, Edwin Earl Cochran and mother, Mary Lou Cochran; her husband, Sonny Boutwell.
Survivors include: her brother, David (Michele) Cochran; children, Ginny (Jeremy) Beck, Eva Boutwell, Tristan Boutwell (Shayla Wright), Kerry (Camille) Boutwell; grandchildren, Josh, Brandon, Makiya, Millie, Makenzie, Hans Lucas, Rowan, Hallee, Blayton; great grandchildren, Latavia, Nathan, Summer, Teagan; nephews, Andrew (Maryann) Rigato, Alexander Cochran (Paislee Parrish); great niece, Ally; great nephew, Noah; and her dogs, Biscuit and Sister.
A visitation for the family and friends of Mary will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
