Michael was born on November 17, 1959, in Columbus, Georgia to Robert and Eveline Ehrhart. He attended Carver High School and graduated with a BFA from the University of Georgia in 1981. Michael took on many jobs at companies like Communicorp, Char-Broil, Prudential Life Insurance, and most recently Total Systems Services (Global Payments Inc.).
Michael loved music and the arts, in addition to collegiate and professional sports. His interests were not limited to any genre or style. His collection of comics and vinyl complemented a vast array of 1996 Atlanta Olympics memorabilia. While Michael liked to relax and enjoy the humanities, he was also an avid cyclist and completed multiple New York Marathons. He had fun hitting the basketball court with friends and running countless Peachtree Road Races with his family. Michael proudly involved his children in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America. Additionally, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels to help provide for those in need and supported local animal shelters.
He is survived by his children; Taylor (Lauren) Ehrhart of Columbus, GA and Sarah Ehrhart of Atlanta, GA, siblings; Yvonne Ehrhart of McDonough, GA and Ramond (Rita) Ehrhart of Richmond Hill, GA, grandchildren; Annistyn and Bennett Ehrhart, and nephews and nieces; Matthew (Amy) Ehrhart, Christopher (Cherish) Ehrhart, and Kristina (Markus) Lehnert, Rachel Ehrhart, and Ryan Ehrhart.
Michael was preceded in death by his father Robert E. Ehrhart, his mother Eveline Ehrhart, and his brother Robert W. (Melanie) Ehrhart.
He was a driven, humorous, and intelligent man who gave so much love to the people in his life, and he was a loving father who guided his family in a complex world. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Rest in eternal peace, Michael.
