Michael King Sr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on April 1, 1954, to the late George Sr. and Yvonne King. At an early age Michael enlisted in the United States Army in 1973 as an Infantryman. He served for 20 years and retired as a 1SG at Fort Benning, GA in April 1993. After retirement, he worked as a truck driver for Boyd and later a supervisor for Swift Textiles in Columbus, GA.
In 1974, Michael reunited with childhood sweetheart Pamela Thompson. They were joined in holy matrimony on March 27, 1976. Their union was blessed with 2 children, Keonka Williams and Michael King Jr. He departed his life on Friday, May 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents George King Sr. and Yvonne King and siblings, George King Jr and Alvin King.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: his loving wife, Pamela King, daughter Keonka (Lee) Williams, son, Michael (Ashley) King Jr., sister, Brenda (Roosevelt) King-Smith, grandkids, Mikayla, Michael III, Mishon, Kaylee, Javier, McKoi, Mi’Rye, Kamryn and Sydney, host of nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends
