Michael Ralph McConnehead, age 45, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away surrounded by his family August 9, 2019. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:30 am in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 officiated by Reverend Jamon Slaughter. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Michael was born December 6, 1973 in Valdosta, Georgia to Evelyn M. Wood and George Wood. He attended and graduated from Junction City High School, Junction City, KS and attended Kansas State University’s Manhattan Campus for two years. He worked at Sift Spinning Mill for almost 20 years. In his spare time, he loved working on the Monte Carlo style muscle cars.
Michael took pride in his cars; he loved working at Swift and always had love and compassion for his family. He was of a calm nature, always encouraging others and was beyond his years of wisdom when it came to giving advice. Michael always had a smile on his face to match his comical sense of humor. As and easy going person, we will remember him as a great listener and the person who always kept the peace in the family.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his mother and father; brothers, Ronald McConnehead and Tony Wood, both of Columbus, GA; sisters, LaShonda Wood and LaQuita Wood of Columbus, GA, and Trey McConnehead of Valdosta, GA; sister-in-law, Marla Wood; and beloved companion, Shelly Rodriguez of Columbus, GA. Many other relatives and friends will also cherish the loving legacy of Michael.
