Mildred I. Hatcher

Mildred Irene Hatcher, age 87, passed away on December 9, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Evangel Temple Assembly of God at 11:00 AM with Rev. Watson McKemie and Rev. Frederick “Bud” Rupel officiating, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hatcher was born on August 22, 1924 to the late Dora Lee White in Columbus. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1942. Mrs. Hatcher worked with Persons Furniture Company, Donald Leebern Furniture Company and K&W Furniture Company before she moved to West Central Georgia Regional Hospital where she retired in 1988. She was a longtime member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hatcher and her step-father, Charles A. White.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth E. and Lisa Hatcher of Marietta, GA, Roger B. and Shirley Hatcher of Columbus, GA and Gary D. and Stephanie Hatcher of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren, Julie, Bryan, Brent, Brad, Connor, Kyle and Ken; and eight great-grandchildren.
